About me

About me

Renate Eder

I was born on August 13, 1958 in Hollabrunn, completed the first grade of elementary school and then emigrated to Australia with my parents and grew up there. I did my entire school education there. During my stay abroad I learned several languages English, French, Greek, Slovak and Czech, completed my high school diploma and became a qualified tour guide. When I returned home, my beloved grandmother died and we stayed here. My first daughter was born in 1987, and in 1992 I had my second daughter and married my first husband and lived in Hollabrunn. When my husband died in 2000, I met my second husband in 2005. Love took me to Sierndorf an der March. When my first daughter moved out and some rooms were empty, I came up with the idea of building guest rooms in 2011. Because I come from the tourism industry and it is very important to me to present and bring the region closer to guests. Since our region is unfortunately not well known to the public, we really have a paradise on our doorstep. There are so many sights, natural areas, cultural attractions and excellent wines, which you can taste in your own cellar room. You can go on wonderful cycling trips to our neighbors who are also very enthusiastic about our region, plan canoe trips on the March or dedicate yourself to cultural fun.

Border representative

Since 2013 I have been working intensively with our neighbors on the border, working closely with the Slovak Embassy and with various associations across the borders. Every year different projects are developed, which are then implemented together into reality.

I think it is very important these days to push for “more togetherness” instead of “everyone for themselves”. Hopefully, through my work as border representative for the Zahorie March region, we will move closer together again.
