A visit to the Sierndorf Museum is a welcome changethe march.
We would be happy to arrange a tour of this house of history for you

However, if you want to discover the secrets of the most important wine tradition in the Weinviertel, we recommend a visit to the lovingly designed wine museum in Jederspeigen, where the history of viticulture awaits you in an interesting and entertaining way.

Equally attractive for visitors is a hike from the castle through the picturesque vineyards to the Pope's Chapel, where, when the weather is nice, you have a wonderful view over the Marchau Mountains to the Little Carpathians in Slovakia.

The Pope's Chapel was built in 1983 on the occasion of Pope John Paul II's first visit to Austria. The place of worship, consisting of a wall and a round bay window with an altar, was designed by Carlo Raffeiner. The two glass windows in the chapel tower are a gift from Schlierbach Abbey.

The varied hiking trail takes you from the Pope's Chapel to the flight observation bunkerover the "Goldberg" to the cellars of the Sierndorfer Berg and on to Sierndorfer Maria Bründl then back to the idyllic castle.

There is a lot to tell about these little gems in the landscape:
The "Goldberg" does not get its name because it was believed that King Ottokar's golden crown was lost here. But because of its special "golden" fertile loess soil. Location and climate to grow great wines here. Warm, dry vineyards with fruit trees, small fields and slopes also result in a valuable cultural landscape.

The Maria Bründl is located above Sierndorf in the middle of a ravine in the hilly area.
The water from the formerly more productive spring was said to have healing properties, particularly for eye problems, so that a lively pilgrimage activity developed in the 17th and 18th centuries. The pilgrimages were then stopped under Joseph II.

The pilgrimage chapels that existed on the way to Bründl were subsequently demolished; Today's small chapel dates from the 19th century and is a popular place for a little inner contemplation.

Just below the Bründl, cozy cellar alleys invite you to linger.
